Located just 10 miles southwest of Denton, Ponder is a growing rural community that has retained a small-town feel. It has easy access to major universities, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport and the city of Fort Worth.
Highland Village on Lewisville Lake is a fast-growing city with a population of about 16,000 and many desirable lakefront homes. It was incorporated in 1963, and between 1975 and 1985 the city's population grew from 1,000 to 5,000. It became a home-rule city in 1986.
Hickory Creek on Lewisville Lake, incorporated in 1963 with a population of 219, is home to many lakeside residents. Many want to get away from urban stress and be near water sports.Â
